Adelphi Kitchens & Cabinetry Opens Its Showroom in Shanghai

Robesonia, Pa., December 15, 2009 — Adelphi Kitchens & Cabinetry has just officially launched its presence in China by opening its doors to a new 3,000-square-foot showroom in Shanghai, China, where it is the first American company to offer custom cabinetry solutions; it’s only the second American kitchen cabinetry company.

Set up like a spacious retail store, the showroom is one of three “stores” on the third floor of a high rise in the city. It is geared for the trade and primarily serves commercial and residential builders and interior designers.

Senior Vice President Nick Yatron, Adelphi Kitchens & Cabinetry, led the effort to offer Adelphi’s custom cabinetry abroad. In July 2009, Adelphi signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Shanghai HanYi Trading Company Ltd. to promote its custom kitchen cabinetry in China. Once Adelphi helped design and install its cabinetry on display, Shanghai HanYi assumed its role of managing the showroom.

Kitchen vignettes feature a range of wood species including Cherry, Oak and Birdseye Maple that can used in a variety of cabinetry styles such as Aspen, Atlantis, Fountainbleu, Heritage, Homestead, Legacy 2, Monaco, San Raphael, Santa Fe, Scottsdale, Whitebrier Plus and Woodland. Additionally, Adelphi’s latest new thermafoil doors inspired by Italian design that were recently introduced in the United States are on display in Graphite Rift Oak and Cherry Spice. Each are finished in high gloss for beauty and durability, and adorned with sleek chrome handles.

“We are very excited to begin our international presence in China – are thankful for the great support we received from the state in such an intense process. The Pennsylvania Center, which is the authorized trade representative office in Shanghai, was an especially helpful resource and key player in identifying our partner, Shanghai HanYi, and negotiating the terms of the contract,” said Yatron.
